I'm all for a simple and direct approach: if you are in love, be together. Why complicate things? It seems like you really love this guy, and for the time being I would try to work it out. Would you be able to talk to him and evaluate the relationship? Pour your heart out to him, let him know how much you love him. Tell him that you want to be with him for longer than just a few months. This means you committing to him and him committing to you. If you believe that this is your true love, then don't give up on it. But don't underestimate your ability to fall out of love with someone, because that's part of reality, too.
